Prosperity is one of Mole Valley District Council’s three corporate priorities. We value our local economy and want to take a pro-business approach.

Whilst we have worked closely with businesses for some time, we recognised the benefits of taking a long term strategic approach, and so we began work to produce an Economic Prosperity Strategy. We are currently in the process of finalising this and I am keen to hear your views.

This strategy is the culmination of extensive collaborative work with the business community, Councillors and key stakeholders of all ages. Their input has helped us shape the draft economic vision and strategic priorities.

I want to thank everyone who has helped us get to this point and to thank, in advance, all of those who will help us deliver the resulting annual plans.

I encourage you to look at the summary document (available as a downloadable PDF above) and to consider the long-term economic vision, strategic economic priorities and the proposed projects. I would then like you to respond to these three questions:

  1. Do you agree with the Long Term Economic Vision?
  2. Do you agree with the six Strategic Priorities?
  3. In the first year, we have selected the projects that we believe will be beneficial in their own right, but importantly also provide a foundation to enable us to successfully deliver subsequent projects. An annual delivery plan confirming the next 12 months actions will be produced at the start of each financial year We welcome your comments on the selection we have made for the forthcoming year.

In addition, if you have any further comments, please do send them on.

Could you please email your thoughts to

by midnight on 26th February 2018

The final strategy will be considered by the Executive on 27th March 2018.

Thank you for your support and involvement and I look forward to receiving your comments.

Kind regards,

Councillor Simon Edge
