The Chamber, its Manifesto and its Activities

Manifesto

The Chamber supports and, wherever possible, actively pursues policies under the following headings:

Continuous enhancement of central Leatherhead and its attractiveness to business employees, local residents and visitors.
Continuous enhancement of those amenities and services in the Leatherhead district impacting on locally-based businesses of all sizes and types
Maintenance of Members' awareness of key local issues, particularly those arising from local and national government, public authorities, public utilities and services.
Representation of Members' views.
Promotion of Leatherhead district for new business set-ups and for recreational visiting.
Enhancement of retail and services business levels in the Leatherhead district.

Activities

The Chamber, managed by the Board of Directors; -

Liaises and negotiates with local government councillors and officers.
Liaises and negotiates with public authorities, utilities etc.
Organises seminars on business issues.
Organises a range of events involving local businesses, institutions and charities, all designed to raise the profile of Leatherhead and its business community.
Provides support for the Town Centre manager.
Provides funding for professional market research studies.
Publishes a newsletter for its Members every two months.
